ABOUT THE JOB
Working as an entertainer is a fantastic job, it is full of exciting tasks and it does never get boring. It is also a challenging job. It makes your creative side come out, and gives you responsibility and freedom.

We have here a few questions that are frequently asked and if you go to the staff page you will find comments from our own staff. We hope that this will help you to understand more about working as an entertainer!

WHAT IS AN ENTERTAINER?
Hoteliers employ a team of 4-5 Hotel Entertainers who will supply daytime and evening entertainment to the hotel guests. The object is to increase customer satisfaction and bar revenues inside the hotels.

WHAT ARE MY TASKS DURING THE DAY?
Activities like Waterpolo, Aqua Aerobics, Archery, Boules, Football, etc will be carried out during the day with the guests. You will also be responsible to look after the children and organize activities with them. You will also be expected to promote events that take place inside the hotel.

WHAT ARE MY TASKS DURING THE EVENING?
The evening is equally as much fun as the day. You will be expected to host and organize theme nights with audience participation i.e. Karaoke, Tropical Night or Battle of the Sexes. With your team you will also perform specially choreographed shows. This can be anything from Saturday Night Fever to Mamma Mia.

WHERE WILL I STAY?
The Hotel will supply you and your team with apartments where you will have to share a room, although Team-Leaders will have their own.

I DON’T HAVE PRIOR EXPERIENCE, HOW DOES IT WORK?
T.M.C. Tourist Services holds an extensive training course in Cyprus where you will be trained by our consultants. You will learn all necessary skills and shows, which are involved in the job. You will also receive additional training and supervision during work.

DO I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO SING AND DANCE?
Some positions require more skills than other, but the most important quality of being a good entertainer is to have an outgoing personality and enjoy working with people. You must have confidence to try new areas of talents and not be shy.

DO I HAVE TO SPEAK A LANGUAGE?
You must be fluent and literate in English. Other languages, especially German are an advantage. But also French, Russian and Italian are good languages to know.

HOW LONG DOES A SEASON LAST?
Normally an entertainer is contracted from beginning of May until the end of October. However some hotels may start as early as in April.

WHAT ARE MY WORKING HOURS?
You will be working six days a week with 8-10 hours a day.
